Better Embers 1.0

Vanilla Skyrim has a variety of issues. Most would agree that the passage of time has not been kind to it, with a ton of people rightfully pointing out a ton of issues with it. Luckily, Skyrim has one of the largest modding scenes around and a ton of creators have dedicated themselves to fixing the game's many issues. One of them is Better Embers to enhance some of the ambiance that comes from fireplaces.

To install the Better Embers, drag it into the Skyrim Data folder, as well as using LOOT to determine the optimal load order so you don't crash your game constantly, much like most Skyrim mods. 

This combines some files from Better Smoke and Embers with some vanilla assets to improve the look of the embers throughout the game. Vanilla Skyrim has a very uncomfortable feel with its fire effects, where it looks like an awkward GIF flickering around every once in a while. This mod adds a bit more depth to it, with embers rising and falling as the fire burns, and with a much softer fire as the wood is burning. Do note that the fire effects are still awkward flickers, but with a few more particle effects.

You may not notice this as you're playing the game, but it definitely enhances the atmosphere of the game. There's almost no reason not to download Better Embers, as it can bring an intangible addition to the experience. Dedicated Skyrim fans shouldn't miss out on this.
