Flash games were the precursors to many parts of the gaming industry today. The creativity and willingness to experiment have translated over to the indie games industry. Many design elements used in AAA games today were first observed in flash games, and the casual nature of many flash games has translated over to the mobile game industry. One of them is Bike Mania, a series with a formula that's actually represented in modern arcade-style games on consoles. Let's look at Bike Mania 5.

The gameplay is pretty much the same as every other entry, but it's fine because the gameplay is solid enough on its own to last forever. You still use the arrow keys to accelerate and lean forward and backwards to stop yourself from flipping and severely injuring yourself.

This entry has you in a military zone that seems to be decommissioned, with radioactive waste barrels lying all around and empty tanks lying all around. God knows why you're biking in this area, but maybe it's for the best that the series doesn't have a story. However, this is a much more boring setting than the last entry, and it feels like a downgrade in that regard.

If you're a fan of simple arcade games that are still very addictive, Bike Mania 5 is and continues to be part of a fantastic series of games that do exactly that.
