BLT and LAKE4 1.0

DOOM is one of the oldest FPSes in existence, and its engine is famously so robust that it can run on pretty much anything and also create pretty much anything.  From FPSes to RPGs to companions to a city living game, it has a ton of different mods and maps that can all do different things. One of the many is BLT and LAKE4.

To install BLT and LAKE4, you need to have ZDoom and move the WAD file into the GZDoom folder, which is pretty par for the course for DOOM maps.

BLT has some issues. The plasma rifle is necessary, but it's unclear where you can find it. It's accessed via a teleporter in the very beginning of the level, but that area becomes inaccessible after a short while into the level. Furthermore, there are some moments where it's incredibly difficult to find out how to proceed. One room as a pair of walls in the central section that are actually unmarked exit switches. It's very confusing, and the lack of ammo overall doesn't help.

LAKE4, on the other hand, is a turkey shoot. It's very short and unattractive, with its focus on the gameplay. It's got an open central area with the eponymous lake, with a plasma rifle and cell ammo. The swarms of cacodemons aren't threats. In fact, there aren't too many threats outside of the two Barons near the end.

Overall, BLT and LAKE4 are more historical curiosities than actual levels, with how many problems they both have.
