Vanilla Skyrim has a variety of issues. Most would agree that the passage of time has not been kind to it, with a ton of people rightfully pointing out a ton of issues with it. Luckily, Skyrim has one of the largest modding scenes around and a ton of creators have dedicated themselves to fixing the game's many issues. One of them is Cloaks of Skyrim, which fixes the confusing lack of cloaks in Skyrim's frigid to freezing environments.

To install the Cloaks of Skyrim, drag it into the Skyrim Data folder, as well as using LOOT to determine the optimal load order so you don't crash your game constantly, much like most Skyrim mods.

This mod adds almost 100 new styles of cloaks to the world of Skyrim that you can obtain via crafting, levelled-lists, and static loot. These cloaks have their own slot, so they won't replace any other armor visually. They are lore-friendly and also enchantable, so you effectively have extra enchanted gear on you. This mod gives you a ton of variety and flavor to the world, as well as giving some gameplay benefits if you installed a mod that has hypothermia such as Frostfall and Hypothermia. 

Each cloak can also have a unique effect, so finding unique cloaks will carry a similar feeling as finding any other piece of unique gear. If you thought that not having cloaks was distracting or simply want another piece of gear, you should definitely give Cloaks of Skyrim a download.
