Democracy 2 on paper sounds like the most boring game you could ever imagine, lots of paperwork, trying to clear up your country of crime and health problems and make the economy better, the interface is overwhelming with what seems like endless options to choose from, the graphics are not particularly inviting or polished and rather like football manager it’s a game that is more or less clicking on spreadsheets and having said all that, it is excellent, in this demo version you are only able to reign over one fictional country which happens to be in a fair state of disarray but implementing policies to repair your country and seeing the effects it has on your population somehow just leaves you wanting more and more it can take a few turns for your policies to come in to effect but it’s great to see when you do something that makes your population happy such as lowering taxes and see how you become more popular, I even received a celebrity endorsement at one point or the opposite when you make a decision that your citizens are not happy with and watch as your popularity falls.

This is actually a much more intriguing game than it sounds on paper and its sad the demo version cuts out so quick as it gets you to the point where you are just starting to get in to it and suddenly you are at the end of the demo however it is definitely worth checking out the demo as this is a really of the most different and interesting game, don’t let the rather unexciting screen shots put you off you need to try out Democracy 2 for yourself, you can download the Democracy 2 demo for free here.
