Final Fantasy Tactics pretty much reinvented the strategy RPG genre. The class system and the strategic gameplay forced players to focus on positioning and class combos to succeed. However, for whatever reason, this genre was deemed to be a strictly single-player experience for a long time, despite its class system lending itself well to an MMO format. It wasn't until Dofus that an MMORPG with a combat system like FFT was conceived.

To install Dofus, make sure you have Ankama Launcher installed. Then, click on Dofus's icon on the left side and then click install. Follow the instructions and you're done.

It's worth noting that the free version of the game functions more like a demo - it's mostly a pay to play game.

The character customization has a ton of options. There are 32 different models to choose from between two genders and a massive variety of predesignated faces. Considering the birds-eye isometric style of the game, it's impressive that this game has more customization than some games with a more up-close camera to your character.

The game is incredibly colorful, but also oddly dead. The environment is very much static most of the time and animated on others for whatever sreason.

The gameplay is what you're here for. The combat system is the standout feature - you and your enemy takes turns making their moves with a large variety of skills on an isometric field. The turns are timed so you can't just walk away from the keyboard.

All in all, Dofus is one of the most unique MMOs out there.
