Low-budget indie games tend to be some of the most creative around, assuming they aren't just flipping assets poorly in Unity. Without the budget to dazzle the audience with beautiful graphics, they instead need to focus on something else to stand out. These restrictions can lead to some very creative premises. Let's look at Eat Your F****** Soup.

The premise of this game is weird, but does a fantastic job at setting the tone of the game. You play as a woman inside an apartment who is absolutely obsessed with soup, and has it be her only sustenance. She is so obsessed that even her bathtub and her toilet is filled to the brim with soup. The only other intelligent beings are disembodied heads that she treats like garbage and tries to dispose of them like she does any other trash...by dumping them down her garbage disposal. That's also filled with soup. It's never explained.

There are a couple of gameplay elements. While most of the game is a walking simulator, you can whip out a GameBoy at any time where you can play an old school choose your own adventure game. You can get more GameBoy games from exploring your apartment. There's a little more to the game's story than that, but it ends just as it's getting good...at least in this version of the game.

All in all, Eat Your F****** Soup is an incredibly unique game that everybody should check out.
