Without the budget to create an epic, the creators instead need to focus on one unique feature to make their games stick out. From these restrictions come some truly inventive concepts. One of them is Heart of the Killer, a game with an incredibly unique visual style.

The game involves the character BB, as per usual in this series. She has decided to go to a strange luxury hotel that's filled with a ton of questionnaires and possible romance choices. The hotel owner is clearly up to something shady. Will you try to find love or try to find out what exactly the hotel owner is up to?

This is a horror game, so the answer's pretty clear.

The audio is very creepy, with a constant droning sound in the background and the occasional creepy laughter. The story is surprisingly twisty, with simultaneous tongue-in-cheek jokes along with genuinely creepy moments. It fits a surprisingly large amount of content and story beats into a game that will just take you twenty minutes to get through.

One of the game's best assets is the visual style. It's an incredibly charming and well-thought-out blend of 2D and 3D and definitely sticks with you after you're finished with a playthrough of it.
