Flash games were the progenitor to many of the mobile games that are widely available today. The mix of arcade gameplay and truly engaging mechanics led to a massive fanbase or certain flash games. One of the many that had humble beginnings that still evolved into something great is the Heli Attack series. Let's look at Heli Attack 3.

The first difference you'll notice between this and the last game is the visuals. The pixel art is now high quality enough to remind one of Metal Slug, which is very impressive for a flash game. The music is now a lot less blatant and sets the mood incredibly well.

The gameplay is very similar, but the biggest change is there is now a mission select screen, and a ton of different helicopters. In fact, the name is now a bit misleading - you'll also shoot down drones and the like. You also have different time powers, such as time rift. Its use isn't completely clear, and the default time dilation still ends up being the most useful ability most of the time.

All in all, Heli Attack 3 finally evolves the series to something that genuinely stands on its own. It's just a shame that the series is on hold.
