Economic simulators have a pretty big niche in gaming. It's a whole genre in and of itself, with games like Patrician, Port Royale, or the Anno series being some of the best-known ones. While interest has faded in recent times, there is something that hasn't been explored in this genre yet. How would it work in an MMO format? LuckCatchers tries to answer that question.

LuckCatchers is only available on Steam, so if you don't own it already, install it first. Then head over to this link to install the game. On bootup, you'll notice that this is very unlike an MMORPG. You aren't controlling a character in third person view like you do so often. You start off in a top-down view at your economy.

However, there is one very large hurdle to cross, as it shares much with EVE Online in that it's very difficult to understand how to play, not helped by the terrible tutorial. You'll need to do your own research to really start playing the game, and that can be too much for some people.

The character you create in the beginning isn't constricted by classes, and so you can choose any skill you want. Thus, you can end up as a pirate, farmer, cargo carrier, or a pure trader that lives and breathes for profit. One interesting thing is you can also hire other players to help you get money, which means you can start building an organic organization.

Overall, LuckCatchers is a very interesting game and you should give it a fair shot.
