This game is a port from a mobile game, so you'll need to keep that in mind as you start playing. The main premise is that it allows you to become the ruler of an empire and grow in power as much as you can. It's not too easy to survive when there are hundreds of other players doing the same thing, which is why it's important to fortify your position and build your defenses up.

The game is designed with casual gamers in mind - there are timers restricting you left and right, with a lot of downtime that has very little real gameplay in between. You can appoint a champion to lead your armies, and this champion can be improved with better gear, which will in turn improve your troops out on the battlefield.
