MOBIUS FINAL FANTASY 7/31/2019

Final Fantasy is one of the oldest game franchises in existence, being beaten out only by the oldest classics like Mario. The franchise has gone from a simple RPG series to almost every single genre in existence, from third-person shooters to strategy games, to even puzzle games. In recent years, they've released a ton of mobile titles, porting over many mainline entries over to the phone and also having a couple of original titles. One of them is Mobius Final Fantasy.

The game itself is surprisingly beautiful for a mobile game port, doubly so because porting it over has increased the texture resolution even more. The story puts a twist on the normal "chosen hero prophecy" premise because in this case, there are a ton of potential "chosen ones" and you're just one drop in an ocean. The thing that makes your character special is he questions everything. This gives a good reason for the multitude of other players in the game.

The gameplay looks straightforward and simple at first glance, but there's a surprising amount of strategy when it comes to some of the tougher battles. Of course, being a mobile game originally, there's an element of stat checking and grinding. 

The actual monetization is a little much - to unlock some of the best classes, you'll have to take your premium currency and pray you don't draw a duplicate. Luckily, you are able to farm for the premium currency slowly, but steadily. All in all, if you're willing to sink a ton of time into it, Mobius Final Fantasyis pretty rewarding.
