Only If is a strange kind of puzzle game that defies logic and sometimes when you think you are making the right decision it is the wrong one and vice versa, so for example if you do something you think you will definitely die from you may find it’s actually the move that helps you to progress in the game, and if you make a fairly safe play you may find it ultimately leads to your demise.

The game features some highly polished voice acting and the gangster who instructs you and tasks you with solving riddles and puzzles to progress in the game provides some comic relief even if the voice acting from your own protagonist character can sometimes come off as a bit smug and smarmy and strangely he doesn’t seem to change his emotions when the gangster speaking through the radio to you tells you that he will kill your girlfriend if you make an incorrect choice which seems a little strange.

The design of the game looks really nice and for a free game this looks highly polished and it is definitely different and unique, although it can get a little frustrating at points where you can’t work out how to progress and therefore can at times get a little boring, although when you are given a task on a time limit the game is very good at increasing the tension.

Only If is a very good looking and different game and will be thoroughly enjoyed by lateral thinkers and problem solvers.
