Relic Hunters Zero 1.0

Top down shooters have undergone a bit of an evolution in recent times. While it started off as a genre with not a lot of diversity, it's evolved lately into roguelikes, survival games, and bullet hells. Relic Hunters Zero is no different, but is also very solid overall.

You start off in this game with two different characters to play as, each having their own special weapon and balanced stat differences. Your goal is to go through twelve stages of crazy mutated animals while wielding two different zany weapons. You'll have light, medium, and heavy weapons to choose from, each level packing more power but less ammo.

Sometimes, after completing a level, you can obtain a relic piece. Collect three of these pieces and you'll be rewarded with a relic you can carry around as a perk for future playthroughs. That plays into this game's nature as a roguelike game. Every time you die, you'll either start from the beginning or a purchased checkpoint. Every unlock you get will follow you through each playthrough, from a new character to a new weapon.

However, this game's map set looks incredibly boring and will lead to it feeling repetitive after just a short time. If you can look past that, however, then Relic Hunters Zero is a fantastic top down roguelike shooter. All interested should give the game a download.
