Low-budget indie games tend to be some of the most creative around, assuming they aren't just flipping assets poorly in Unity. Without the budget to dazzle the audience with beautiful graphics, they instead need to focus on something else to stand out. These restrictions can lead to some very creative premises. Let's look at Within.

To install Within, simply unzip the files inside the archive into any folder you want.

The game's premise is simple but effective. Your character's brother has been missing for three months, and he's recently left a voice message telling your character to not look for him even though he's in a spot of trouble. Your character, of course, ignores this, and immediately goes to look for him.

The game is very good at conveying a certain atmosphere. The moment you enter your brother's apartment, you can sense that things are going wrong. Your brother's room is unlocked, and you go in to find that he loves the horror genre and he's a big gamer. You figure out how to boot the game he's downloaded from the dark web, find a note where he details exactly how much trouble he's in, and you eventually follow him into the game, where a malevolent entity is inhabiting it.

That's the introduction of the game. From there, it only gets more and more immersive as you uncover the mystery of what happened to your brother and maybe even how to save him.

All in all, Within is an incredibly unique game that everybody should check out.
