Actual Installer Review
Last Updated: 2019-07-11 09:53:02
If you're a software developer, you're going to want to create an installer. Yes, it's easy to simply just drop all your files into an archive file and just slap that up on the internet, but if you're trying to get a living off of it, then you'll want to create something more professional looking. That's what programs like Actual Installer is for - to help you smooth that process out.
On initial bootup, users will get to pick between the free version or the trial version of Actual Installer. For this review, I picked the free version, which I interpreted as a demo version as it straight up tells you that some of the options are locked.
There are a ton of customization options for the installer you're preparing. Other than the files you want it to install, you can also set a wizard, header picture, custom icon, the OS that the installer can work on, and requirements like license agreement, admini privileges, NET framework, adobe reader, java, and SQL server express. You can also choose between a standard installation or upgrade mode, add an installer, a welcome dialogue, a license agreement, and even have it create shortcuts to the registry and INI files.
Once you're done, all you have to do is click the finish button and it gets it done as fast as possible, creating a CD/DVD. If this sounds like something that you might need now or in the future, then I can safely recommend Actual Installer for you! Despite some options being locked, it will more than serve your needs.
