ClamWin Antivirus 1.0

ClamWin Antivirus is an antivirus program with a difference as it is open source and so therefore being constantly updated for the better, it can be very useful to find any malware or Trojans that may have slipped through the net of any other defenders you have in place, it was rather impressive that it found a Trojan that had made it past all our other antivirus software.

The scans are thorough and although they can take a long time it really does do a thorough job of searching every area for any potential threats. It is also completely free and free from advertisements, the interface can be a little dull to look at and look somewhat basic but it is simple and easy to use.

It also has the ability to find any bugs hidden in the memory and get rid of them, one negative though is that it does not scan in real time.

ClamWin antivirus may not be as thorough and comprehensive as other free antivirus programs such as AVG but it is a very useful tool to run alongside another security program to catch any infections that may have slipped through the net.
