DDD Terrain Editor Review
Last Updated: 2020-03-08 19:42:50
Game development is a really tough field to break into, and most of that is due to the learning curve. Teams can work for years for no pay and release their game only to get little to no money back because they spent too much time learning how to do things. There are a ton of different programs out there that can help ease that learning curve. One of them is DDD Terrain Editor.
Installing DDD Terrain Editor is simple. Simply unzip the program and run the executable, and you're good to go. As soon as it starts, you have a few options. If you've worked with terrain programs before, then you'll probably have a few heightmap files, then you can import them and help you translate terrain characteristics within this program. Otherwise, you'll have to create a new terrain model from zero. Beginners will likely choose the second option.
Creating a simple terrain file is not enough if you're developing them for games. You need to also paint and texturize it, options that are both included in this program. Just select the paint or texture you want to apply and click the area where you want to implement it. After you're finished, all you need to do is export it in the OBJ format and you can then import it into any game development program you want.
All in all, DDD Terrain Editor is fantastic if you need to create some terrain for your game. If that sounds like you, give this program a download.
