Rockstar Games Launcher Review
Last Updated: 2020-02-22 19:56:37
If you're a gamer, you're probably more than familiar with developers creating a ton of different games. These games are usually haphazardly scattered around your game library and difficult to locate. A ton of companies who have created a ton of games has started creating their own independent launcher so you don't have to suffer from this problem. One of them is Rockstar Games Launcher, a launcher for all of Rockstar's great games.
Installing Rockstar Games Launcher is incredibly simple - just run the installer. Unlike game launchers like Steam, Origin, Epic or uPlay, there aren't a lot of games for sale here. There are only seven, the latest RDR2 release included.
For what it's worth, it does what it's trying to do fine. It features cloud saves, a store, and...that's about it. All social features are managed through the Rockstar Social Club, which is installed alongside this program but completely separate. The interface is very similar to Blizzard-Activision's Battle.net, but the interface has...a lot of empty space. In terms of design, it's far too minimalistic. There is a sidebar and a few buttons on the top right to switch between the library, store and settings menu.
All in all, Rockstar Games Launcher does its job just adequately. It lets you buy games and run those games, just as advertised. However, the features are so limited that there's absolutely no reason to download this outside of needing to in order to play Rockstar games. If you fall outside that audience, then don't bother downloading it.
