Sprite Sheet Slicer Review
Last Updated: 2020-03-23 17:12:28
Game development is a really tough field to break into, and most of that is due to the learning curve. Teams can work for years for no pay and release their game only to get little to no money back because they spent too much time learning how to do things. There are a ton of different programs out there that can help ease that learning curve. One of them is Sprite Sheet Slicer.
Installing Sprite Sheet Slicer is straightforward. Simply unzip the setup file and run it, then run the executable after the installation's finished. Once you boot it up, you'll find that the UI is incredibly simple and basic, especially compared to many other sprite programs. This sends a message, however. This program's only use is to slice up the sprite sheet - nothing more, nothing less. It doesn't even try to be multipurpose, so it's hard to fault it for something it doesn't even try to do.
Once you've finished using the program's various tools to slice up your sprite sheet in a way that will benefit your development, then you should remember to set an output location for your future sprites. Once that's done, it will slice the sheet up and you'll see if your calculations were correct. If they weren't, you'll see that some of your sprites were cut in half.
All in all, Sprite Sheet Slicer doesn't even try to be anything else and it shows. If you need something for that specific use, then you should give it a download.
