11 Years Ago Review

Low budget indie games tend to be some of the most creative around, assuming they aren't just flipping assets poorly in Unity. Without the budget to create an epic, the creators instead need to focus on one unique feature to make their games stick out. From these restrictions come some truly inventive concepts. One of them is 11 Years Ago, which is a puzzle horror game where you have to hunt through your uncle's house to find out what happened 11 years ago.
To play 11 Years Ago, simply run the executable after unzipping it to a folder.
This is a game created by a group of students at BigRock School, and it's an impressive affair. It has full voice acting (which is fairly low quality, but it's forgivable) and an in-depth storyline. The game follows a young woman called Abigail, who's inherited a creepy old house from her estranged uncle along with a note that tells you that the house has the answer to the question of how her parents died 11 years ago.
This horror game doesn't have any action. It's completely based around puzzle-solving, and these are some very difficult puzzles. You may want to keep a pen and paper handy to make some of the details easier to remember. Every single one of these puzzles are incredibly different as well, to the point where one puzzle may be easy as pie but another puzzle can get you stuck for a while.
Oh, and this game is entirely made with the just-released Unreal Engine 5, and you can see some of its graphical techniques at work in this game.
All in all, if you want to play a game with an incredibly unique premise, then you should give 11 Years Ago a download.
