A Monster Doesn’t Let Me Leave My Room is a strange yet compelling game, its low resolution hand drawn graphics add to its charm and the story will keep you hooked right through until the end.

There’s lots of mistakes in the text in the game but it detracts nothing from the overall game and as it continues and more of the story is revealed it becomes more and more interesting.

The storyline is based around you as a young man having followed your dream and just moved in to an apartment in New York but everything is not as it seems and as each day passes things start to get weirder and weirder in your apartment and the line between what is happening in your dreams and what is happening in reality start becomes more and more blurred.

After a while the controls become inverted although to give you the reason this happens would be to give away the story line but it makes it more difficult to navigate your apartment and adds a small challenge to the game however this game is really all about the story and the weird things that have been going on in your apartment.

The game can be finished in a matter of a minutes and the only real problem here is that it would be nice if there was a bit more to it and also it would have been great if there was a little more explanation given to the back story but for a game that looks so amateur it really is worth playing A Monster Doesn’t Let Me Leave My Room for the story line alone.
