The game starts off much like Mario 64. You go to Peach's castle to find the princess, but a couple things are different. One, and the most obvious - she's dead. The place is now haunted by Peach's murderous ghost. Two - Mario is now holding a lamp and walking around because it's a walking simulator.

The most interesting part of the game is how loyal it is to the original Mario 64 version in terms of UI and graphics, which gives it a delightful juxtaposition. The cartoonish graphics and the nostalgic UI almost amplify the horror you feel as you're running for your life - like you're the weird one for feeling that way.

The gameplay itself is much like Slender, with some improvements. You have to avoid a ghost while trying to collect 8 Power Stars. The changes come from how you have to hide in areas to avoid the ghost - it isn't just a cheap jumpscare most of the time.

All in all, Another Princess Is In Our Castle is an incredibly unique horror game that everybody should check out.
