Warning: This mod contains potentially disturbing themes of mental illness. If you find that you may get upset or disturbed about these themes, do not download.
Friday Night Funkin' has been a massive hit among the gaming community. It is insanely stylish while also hitting the nostalgia switch with its art style. It's also incredibly moddable, with practically every asset it has being editable. The community has created a ton of incredibly full conversion mods, and one of them is Friday Night Funkin' Static Memories.
To install Friday Night Funkin' Static Memories, simply drag and drop the files from the mod into the folder where you extracted the original game files.
This mod aims to be in the vein of another mod in exploring mental illness, but this one has a lot more story than that one. Each level has a short visual novel section, and it's all incredibly captivating. It starts off incredibly innocuous, with you singing a few songs with a talking heartbeat monitor until week 1 starts and it's revealed that the heartbeat monitor was never alive and there's an incredibly creepy lemon man following you around.
Gameplay-wise, it's nothing special. Each song is pretty much just a slowed down version of certain songs from the base game and they play as easily. It isn't until the last song of week 1 where the gameplay actually starts spicing things up.
Outside of that, though, Friday Night Funkin' Static Memories is one of the most intriguing mods around and definitely worth following as it finishes up development.
