The Half-Life source engine is one of the most popular engines for shooters out there for a reason - it's one of the most moddable engines out there and has spawned a ton of standalone games that are incredibly famous nowadays. There are a ton of mods, however, that were just as well made. One of them is Sven Co-op.

To install Sven Co-op, make sure you have Steam installed. Once that's done, head on over to this link to install it.

The basic premise of this mod is simple. It's Half-Life, but harder and with your friends. There are a bunch of cooperative features, such as sharing ammo, boosting players up to secret areas that are specially designed for this mod, heal teammates with med kits, and revive them with half your med kit.

This mod supports up to 16 players - an absolutely ridiculous number when you consider how each Half life level is designed for one person. Every server you connect to will quickly turn into a chaotic blur of sound and color with 15 other players. Teammates will die at a hilariously fast rate, bullets will fly across the screen, and grenades and electricity will spray around the room haphazardly. It is pure insanity, and one of the funniest coop experiences around.

Overall, Sven Co-op is free and fun to play. If you have a group of friends, then you should get them together and give this game a shot. The sheer chaos guarantees at least a few hours of entertainment.
