If you've been using Tango on your mobile phone or tablet, you will feel right at home with the Tango desktop application for Windows PC users. For those that are not familiar with the Tango app that is available for iOS and Android mobile devices, Tango is a free video calling application that allows you to get in contact with your friends and family members instantly without having to add any new contacts.

This is because Tango uses the contacts that are already in your phone to do a couple of things: the first is that Tango compares your phone numbers and email addresses from your contacts to their own database to see if your contacts already have Tango accounts. Once it finds a match you are automatically connected with your contacts. If it doesn't find a match, Tango can use your phones messaging capabilities to send out invites to all of the contacts that it could not find matches for.

Tang is more than video calling though. You can also place audio only calls, send and receive text messages, and even video message. Audio only calls are just like phone calls except that it will sound clearer than a normal phone call, this is because rather than using your phone's dedicated phone calling method, Tango is using Voice Over IP. You may have heard about Voice Over LTE in the news lately, this is when your call travels over your data connection rather than the dedicated voice calling network.
