The Final Take Review

The Final Take is a horror and exploration game, you play as a girl who is starting a new job in an old hospital but when you arrive you find it is abandoned and dark and creepy and you start to make your way through it and gradually uncovering a very spooky story through notes and audio recordings.

There is a rather unique feature in The Final Take which is the game looks as if it’s being played through an old fashioned VHS tape however this can become a little heavy on the eyes at times and a rather confusing thing is that it’s not clear why this technique is used as the protagonist is holding a smart phone so it seems the game is set in current time and perhaps this wasn’t necessary but this is still a great and very scary game, it looks good with the exception of the VHS static and the atmospheric music builds up making it a very tense experience, there is also of course jump scares and they sometimes come at very surprising times making you jump out of your seat

This is the alpha demo version of The Final Take and there is certainly room for improvement but it is still a pretty great and very scary game and horror fans will not be disappointed.
