The Flood: Forgotten Exile 1.0

The Flood from Halo is one of the more interesting "zombies" in gaming. They're fast, know how to use firearms, have multiple forms and can't raise new allies from the dead unless their most vulnerable forms makes contact with a corpse. All of this may sound intimidating, but they're not too hard to deal with as a player. However, all these roles become a lot more interesting if you play as them, as The Flood: Forgotten Exile proves.

To install The Flood: Forgotten Exile, make sure you have opensauce installed and unzip it into the Halo maps folder.

This mod starts extremely strong. A cutscene pans around a room of Covenant, ending with a special Flood dropping down near them unseen. Then, with a roar, you take control of that Flood form and leap into the fray.

Just like the other Flood campaigns, simply being the Flood changes the dynamic of every Covenant encounter. You want to focus on wiping out the Grunts and Jackals as soon as possible so they can't stop your infection forms from doing their job. You'll aim to knock down the Elite's shields so they can be taken over and added to your horde.

This particular mission has various vehicle sections where the FLood are given the ability to infest and drive vehicles. Leading your horde of vehicles against others is a feeling that isn't replicated anywhere else in Halo. Overall, if you're a Halo fan, you should definitely give this mission a download so you can leap around as your favorite zombies.
