VS Punk Girl Review
Last Updated: 2021-04-27 03:56:08
Friday Night Funkin' has been a massive hit among the gaming community. It is insanely stylish while also hitting the nostalgia switch with its art style. It's also incredibly moddable, with practically every asset it has being editable. The community has created some amazing full week mods that have their own storyline and original characters. One of the many is VS Punk Girl.
To install VS Punk Girl, simply drag and drop the files from the mod into the folder where you extracted the original game files.
The game's storyline is as such - the boyfriend and girlfriend are attending a concert that features a punk rocker. In the middle of the show, they decide to go onstage to ask for an autograph. She quickly agrees to a rap battle to get them off stage, and that's where the game starts.
Gameplay-wise, it feels incredibly strange. At first, I thought that the charting was off, as many of the keys didn't feel like they were on beat or were just added on superfluously. I quickly realized that it was part of the problem, but not all of it. Another big reason for everything feeling off was that the boyfriend's vocals sometimes fade out or get amplified with seemingly no rhyme or reason. This random fading made some of the keys it was attached to feel wrong and the amplification is disorienting enough to make it hard to recover.
Still, this is a pretty creative setting and setup. If you're a fan of Friday Night Funkin' and want to experience a pretty solid mod, then you should definitely give VS Punk Girl a download.
