When We Were Young 1.0

When We Were Young is a point and click adventure game where you play as Katie a middle aged mom of two bickering children who returns back to the small island that she was brought up on to visit her dying sibling but things take a mysterious and strange turn when Katie wakes up as her 15 year old self.

The game is still in its prototype stage so it’s not completely coherent and linear in its story telling however it the emotional music and expertly timed sound effects make it an intriguing and compelling story leaving other parts at the moment to our imaginations.

The animations in When We Were Young are simple but effective and the characters when walking do show a strange stiffness but it’s almost charming in a crude way and the story is enough alone to keep you entertained on this strange and sombre journey in to what seems like a very normal family.

At the moment only chapters 1,2 and 5 are available but we look forward to seeing where the development of this unusual point and click visual novel goes.
