If you wanted to make games on MMOs before streaming and making money on Youtube was a thing, you'd need to engage in Real Money Trading, or RMT. However, RMT was a generally illegal thing to do, and many people were banned doing it. However, there were also games specifically designed for players to make money off of the in game economy. One of them is Next Island.

To install Next Island, simply run the installer and you're good to go.

The game's setup is that you are one of the many new colonists sent to Next Island, a new planet in the Entropia Universe (which is a series of games). This planet's theme is paradise. You will explore a vast, tropical planet that features a variety of environments such as tropical cities, resorts, beaches, lagoons, waterfalls, mountains, jungles, deserts, and some random cave that can transport you to Ancient Greece.

You can go on MMO style quests like hunting boars, or you can play as a space pirate and loot other players. You can also open your own business with your entrepreneurial skills, and also buy and own property. You can own a shop, a club, a resort, or whatever else. Any players mining or hunting on it will be forced to pay you a tax to work there.

All in all, if you want to play as a businessman or just live a second virtual life, then you should definitely give Next Island a download. It's all incredibly engaging.
