As a result, indie developers need to do something unique in this genre to stand out. Stevens’ Short_Tail tackles this by being incredibly simple and feels-good.

This is a very simple game. It is one of two very short visual novel stories both starring Stevens, a cat who likes to sit on top of a fence and wait for certain things to happen that only occur at this time of year. He, being a cat, doesn't know what these things are but he knows that he likes them. During each of these two tales, his best friend Alina always joins him for a chat about current events.

The charm from this game comes from the fact that the two characters are...just cats. Their worldview is very skewed because of that simple fact, and it's hilarious seeing how cats interpret the things we see in our daily lives. However, there is absolutely no gameplay to be had here - you really are just clicking and reading through the story. If you know that going in, it shouldn't be a problem.
