Point and click games used to be all the craze until around the 2010s. Now, they're usually relegated to mid-size productions or simple indie titles. The genre also proved incredibly popular among flash game creators, due to the relatively simple planning and programming that goes into such a game. Japanese developers, in particular, took to it in droves. One of them is the developer Funkyland. Let's look at one of their games in a series, Alice House 2 No. 02: The Garden of Live Flowers.
To play Alice House 2 No. 02: The Garden of Live Flowers, unzip all the files in the same area and run the main SWF with whatever player you have.
There's practically no written story - this series is heavy on environmental storytelling and won't hold your hand in terms of actually giving you a narrative.
The gameplay is fantastic. You need to find five depictions of the Red Queen that are hidden around the area so you can leave and they can be anything from pictures to structures. To do this, you need to click around, explore and interact with the environment, much like pretty much every other escape game. One downside is that your cursor won't change shapes and that will force you to pixel hunt.
The art is beautiful and there's very little to criticize about it. This entry is quite large compared to the typical Funkyland production and it's heartening to see them increase the scope.
All in all, if you're a fan of point-and-click games, then Alice House 2 No. 02: The Garden of Live Flowers is very worthy of your time. You won't regret your choice if you give this game a shot.
