Vanilla Skyrim has a variety of issues. Most would agree that the passage of time has not been kind to it, with a ton of people rightfully pointing out a ton of issues with it. Luckily, Skyrim has one of the largest modding scenes around and a ton of creators have dedicated themselves to fixing the game's many issues. One of them is ApachiiSkyHair, a mod that fixes the small selection of hairstyles available with the game.
To install the ApachiiSkyHair, drag it into the Skyrim Data folder, as well as using LOOT to determine the optimal load order so you don't crash your game constantly, much like most Skyrim mods.
This mod adds a ton of different hairstyles to the game and replaces some of the vanilla ones with higher resolution textures. However, there is no way to change your hairstyle after you've created a character in the base game. Thankfully, the game has RaceMenu as one of the required mods before installation, and you can also use Racemenu to change your appearance midgame.
Simply open the console and type showracemenu to open up character customization again. Be sure to be in third person view before editing your character, otherwise you will be invisible. Otherwise, enjoy all the new hairstlyes you have. They are all handcrafted and/or imported from different games with an active modding scene.
Overall, ApachiiSkyHair is almost crucial if you want to enjoy a personalized Skyrim character. Maybe now, you'll have a reason to go into third person view more than before.
