CMT The Silent Cartographer Evolved Review
Last Updated: 2020-11-13 01:10:56
Halo revolutionized shooters back in the early 2000s. Even to this day, shooters are all designed on the foundation that Halo set down. A dedicated grenade and melee button, regenerating health, and two weapon limits. However, the game still persists to this day because of how moddable it is. CMT The Silent Cartographer Evolved takes full advantage of how moddable it is by changing and modernizing its most iconic level.
To install CMT The Silent Cartographer Evolved, make sure you have Halo Custom Edition installed. You'll also need OpenSauce to install it as well, and then you'll need to move the map file into your maps directory.
You'll notice the changes as soon as you start playing the level. You'll see a loadout menu that looks similar to the one from Halo Reach's multiplayer, letting you start off with the fabled battle rifle. This takes many of the same cues from SPV3's weapon sandbox, with many of the same weapons. Your battle rifle can change fire mode from triple shot to single shot, making it much more accurate at the cost of less punching power.
The level's flow and layout are all completely changed as well. You can notice it from the initial beach landing alone. Instead of a relatively wide and open battlefield, there is an elevated hill with a turret perched on top that clearly distinguishes itself as the main target.
All in all, CMT The Silent Cartographer Evolved is an interesting and brand new take on an old fan favorite.
