Date-Night Masses Review
Last Updated: 2022-03-30 23:59:37
Friday Night Funkin' was a smash hit when it came out over a year ago, and took the gaming scene by storm. It is insanely stylish while also hitting the nostalgia switch with its art style. Even now, its modding community is still going strong for a good reason. The incredible modability along with the relatively simple engine lends it incredibly well to modders. The community has created some amazing mods, with some popular enough to spawn their own fan mods. One of them is Date-Night Masses.
To install Date-Night Masses, simply unzip the files wherever you want and just run the executable.
This mod is a love letter to one of the greatest Friday Night Funkin' mods out there. Here, you play as Ruv, who's trying to serenade Sarvente. The charting references both of their styles from the original mod, with Sarvente having a ton of hold notes and Ruv having a ton of double notes. Unfortunately, this means that you can't really get a preview from looking at your opponent, but the mod isn't that difficult either way.
There are cutscenes, both animated and visual novel style, and they're extremely high quality. The animated intro in particular blends a ton of animation mediums together, utilizing papercraft graphics to give it an extremely unique style. There's also a bunch of voice acting that's a bit hit or miss, but inoffensive.
Oh, and the story is so saccharine-sweet that it'll melt even the coldest heart. Their redesigned casual outfits also really show off their personality.
If you're a fan of Friday Night Funkin' and want to experience a fantastic sendoff to a great mod, then you should definitely give Date-Night Masses a download.
