REFramework Direct2D Review
Last Updated: 2022-08-29 19:10:33
Monster Hunter Rise is the latest entry in the Monster Hunter series, and one of the most accessible to newcomers. It's new mechanics give it a giant safety net for newcomers while still challenging old timers towards the end game. Since the game is now one of two to come to the PC, the modding community has been working hard to improve the game. One of them is REFramework Direct2D, an overlay that's essential for many mods to function properly.
To install REFramework Direct2D, simply extract the contents into your Monster Hunter Rise directory. You can find it by going to your Steam library, right clicking on Monster Hunter Rise, and browse local files.
Just like its namesake, you will need this to run a lot of different overlays. For instance, there are a lot of mods in this game that add to the UI of the game. For instance, a DPS meter that will tell you how you're doing in relation to your pets and your teammates, or an overlay that (god forbid) tells you how much health a monster has left. Those mods can't run without this mod.
Outside of that, this absolutely has pretty much no useful functions on its own. You can create some test overlays and load it in with this mod, but they wouldn't do much unless you're putting in a ton of effort into actually creating a full mod.
If you want to mod on Monster Hunter Rise, then you'll absolutely need REFramework Direct2D.
