Revelation Online Review
Last Updated: 2020-06-27 20:26:13
The formula for MMORPGs that World of Warcraft has established has permeated the scene, to the point where it's overflowing and relatively stagnant. Very few MMORPGs have tried to mix it up, with many sharing a very similar combat system and gameplay loop as WoW. However, there are a few MMOs out there that try to mix up some part of it. Revelation Online decided to add a whole third dimension to the gameplay by having flight.
To install Revelation Online, make sure you have Steam installed. Once that's done, go to this link to install it.
Right off the bat, it's important to note that the flying isn't a gimmick. They don't just throw it in there and leave it. This is actually integrated into the design, and there is flying combat. However, that's just about the best part of the game. The combat is also incredibly fun and fluid, separating it from tab targeting MMORPGs. Every other part of the game, unfortunately, is flawed.
The pacing is incredibly strange. The first 30 to 40 levels feel like a tutorial, with the game constantly holding your hand and telling you what button to press before scooting you to the next area. You barely get a chance to register what's going on in the world before you move on. Once you get past that, it gets better, but it's still an inexcusably long time.
Overall, Revelation Online is a fun time, but only if you can look over its many flaws. If you can do that, you should give it a download.
