Point and click games used to be all the craze until around the 2010s. Mateusz Skutnik is one of the best creators of the genre. Less known is that he's actually part of a team - Pastel Games - and that they assisted in many of his best-known games. He in turn has contributed to their work, with one of them being the Tortuga series. Let's look at Scene of the Crime: Dream of Murder.
To play Scene of the Crime: Dream of Murder, just run it with whatever SWF player you have.
You'll quickly notice that the art style has changed significantly to its credit. Instead of Skutnik's classic artstyle with bold lines, this leans further into the oil painting aesthetic than his traditional offerings. That, combined with how much more focused on story this entry is, gives it a distinct flavor that sets it far apart from Skutnik's other games. However, it does exacerbate the issue of not knowing what's interactable and what isn't.
Oterwise, it's pretty much the same as every other Pastel Games offering. There are some fairly clever puzzles, but it's overall pretty easy and fairly short. Other than the hurdles already pointed out, there's nothing else to get caught up on.
All in all, if you're a fan of Skutnik's work, you should definitely give Scene of the Crime: Dream of Murder a download.
