STRAY DOOM v01

DOOM is one of the oldest FPSes in existence, and its engine is famously so robust that it can run on pretty much anything and also create pretty much anything.  From FPSes to RPGs to companions to a city living game, it has a ton of different mods that can all do different things. One of the more unique ones out there is STRAY DOOM.

To install STRAY DOOM, you need to have GZDoom. Then, simply drag and drop the zip file onto gzdoom.exe, or rename it from a .zip to a .pk3 first.

This mod is incredibly impressive, considering how DOOM is usually a first person shooter. This mod turns you into the adorable cat from the recently released game Stray, complete with its own little Doomguy helmet and a drone that helps it shoot. Of course, since this is now a third-person game, the cat also has its own suite of animations. They're all pretty solid too, except for the jumping animation which feels incredibly floaty and jerky. And of course, there will be a lot of moments where the cat looks like it's skating across the ground because the little guy is still beholden to DOOM movement mechanics.

Do note that this is just a simple character conversion mod, and there are no maps that come with this mod. However, it is possible to complete all current maps with the little kitten, and it's fun to experience maps from a whole new perspective.

Overall, STRAY DOOM is an incredibly impressive total overhaul mod that the DOOM mod community has been getting known for.
