Thing-Thing 1.0

Madness Combat is one of the most popular flash series of all time. Its simple yet iconic art style, creative choreography and kills, and memorable setpieces have propelled it into stardom. Practically everybody on Newgrounds at least knows of it in passing, and it's so popular that it has its own official holiday on Newgrounds. It's inspired a ton of games and movies with its formula and the Thing-Thing series is one of them. Let's look at the first entry.

To play Thing-Thing, simply run the executable.

The controls are simple. You just have to move your mouse to control your hand, A and D to move around, left click to pick up weapons and attack, W to jump, F to swap weapons, and spacebar to open and close doors. If you don't have a weapon in your hand, you'll punch with left click instead.

You can also customize your character, choosing what headwear and suit he has on, but it's a limited arsenal. You can also toggle on cheats so you don't have to worry about ammo or weaponry.

The story revolves around the game's protagonist, a bio-weapon experient labeled Gamma-Class Bio-Weapon Project #154. You wake up next to a doctor, and the first thing you'll do is kill the doctor, take his gun, and shoot out the vent so you can escape. From there, the cast expands as you learn of two other bioweapons, Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon who are all out to hunt him down.

Thing-Thing is incredibly fun to play even though it's simplistic and far too easy.
