Bionicle was one of the best franchises Lego had. Even to this day, very few can match it in terms of worldbuilding, story, and the sheer flavor the setting had. One of the main reasons is the online game that was released alongside the toys back in 2001. It was beautiful, engaging, and with a bit of tuning, still holds up incredibly well today. Because of how successful it was, they decided to release more from different developers. One of the last is the Voya Nui Online Game.

To install the Voya Nui Online Game, make sure you have a Flash Player. Then, unzip the archive and run the shortcut for the flash player.

First thing's first - this game is developed by the same company that created Dofus, and it shows. The gameplay is incredibly similar, especially in combat. You have to manage your resources and weapons to take out your opponents.

Unfortunately, the quest design doesn't hold up quite as well. Much of the game revolves around you running around the island to do fetch quests constantly to upgrade your gear. While the combat system itself is good, the quest design turns the game into a long, tedious slog to play through, even if you obtained some of the strongest weapons. The story's pacing suffers significantly as well because of the padding.

It's unfortunate because Voya Nui is one of the most interesting islands and arcs in the setting. If you can look past all its flaws, then you should definitely give Voya Nui Online Game a download. Otherwise, steer clear.
