Idle games have become more and more popular ever since Cookie Clicker opened an unexpected floodgate a while ago. Since idle games are easy to create, there have been a ton of them flooding every gaming site. However, many of them are practically the same thing. The best ones, however, do their best to actually innovate and stand out. One of them is Idle Sword.

The game has a story, but it's very light and told mainly through the dialogue. You are some kind of higher power that finds a warrior trapped in a dungeon with nothing. He asks for your help in defeating the enemy in the bottom of the dungeon. From there, you have to assist him by clicking on enemies to damage them, clicking on him to heal him, and help him equip items that he finds from enemies.

As you progress, he will make more and more comments about the situation and allies will gradually start joining you as you dive. If your party dies for whatever reason, you will simply start over from the beginning with all your levels, cash, and equipment intact. That, coupled with a small amount of persistent upgrades and unlocks, lets this game feel a little like a much more forgiving rogue-lite.
