Cuttlebone 1.0

Cuttlebone is a short visual novel centered around two young adults going to spend a day on the beach together and search for Cuttlebone to be taken back for the Parakeet which one of them keeps as a pet.

The game is seen through the eyes of Shu the male protagonist but most of the drawing is focused on his rather attractive (for a drawing) female friend called Inami, what unfolds is a very enjoyable story of two friends who seem to be coming to a new chapter in their friendship although at no time does it cross any boundaries or get overtly sexual there is some very sweet undertones that these two may become more than friends very soon.

Do be aware there are many animations of Inami in her bathing suit and this is probably not suitable for younger gamers although there is nothing explicit parents may want to check out the game before allowing children to play it.

A well written and compelling visual novel however it does lack in any kind of interaction and sometimes the still frames (at the least the ones that don’t feature Inami) can become a bit stale when you get stuck reading a lot of text with a visual of just a bus stop or the side of a building to look at for example.
