DCS World Steam Edition Review
Last Updated: 2020-07-19 18:51:29
Flight simulators are traditionally some of the most expensive games ever created. The effort that goes into making the aerodynamics, sound, feel, and physics realistic as well as emulating every single part of a pilot's cockpit console takes a ton of resources, and planes costing upwards of a hundred dollars in such games isn't uncommon. So imagine my surprise when I saw a free version of one of the longest running flight simulators - DCS World Steam Edition.
To install DCS World Steam Edition, make sure you have Steam installed and go to this link to install the game.
This game is incredibly hard to run on most PCs. The engine renders everything from 0 to 80,000 feet and has an incredibly detailed map of the Caucasus region. There are millions of buildings, roads of road and railways, trees, and airbases. If you don't have an incredibly powerful computer, you are not going to be able to play this game.
WIthout purchasing any other planes, you can fly the TF-51 Mustang and the Su-25T attack jet. You can also play all DCS World modules, and you can also create your own missions and campaigns for unlimited gameplay.
The absolute worst part about this game is that it, like every other true flight simulator, is ridiculously complex. There is a 44 page Quickstart guide guiding you through how to simply control your plane, as well as a ton of incredibly instructive tutorials. If you can get past that, though, you will have a great time if you install DCS World Steam Edition.
