Everquest was known as one of the best MMORPGs created back in the day, and it's still being supported to this day. However, it's undeniable that it's getting a little dated, both in gameplay and in presentation. Sony Entertainment wanted to update it to something more modern now that WoW had completely changed the genre. Everquest II is the result.

To install Everquest II, simply run the installer and you're good to go.

Character customization is incredibly generous and varied. There are sixteen races for you to choose from as well as 24 classes for you to choose from. What's more, it keeps in mind the lore of the world by denying you the ability to have certain race/class combinations that don't make sense. For instance, Dark Elves are inclined to be evil by nature and thus can't choose to become Paladins. Similar, the Frogloks, who are naturally good, can't become assassins. Outside of these lore incompatible combinations, however, you can choose whatever you want.

The focus on lore extends to quests. There are certain parts of the world that will be locked off to your race, and you'll have to choose to betray your faction via a quest line before you're allowed. However, your old faction will now be locked off as well.

All in all, however, Everquest II is a pretty good update set in a very interesting world. Fans of the original should give it a try, as well as fans of MMORPGs that are a little bit bored of the popular ones right now.
