City and Theme Park building simulation games were pretty popular back in the 2000s, with a couple of them popping up every year. However, restaurant simulators were pretty rare, and even today, there aren't many games where you focus on serving the customers. It's a different story in Flash games, though. The Papa franchise has tons of entries that span a ton of different food types. Let's look at Papa's Pizzeria.
To play Papa's Pizzeria, simply run it with whatever SWF player you have.
On the surface, it looks similar to a casual mobile game like Diner Dash. However, there's much more to it. Gameplay revolves around four stations. At the first station, you will take orders from a customer who approaches the counter. At the second station, you will go prepare the toppings for the pizza. This is harder than it looks, because some customers are picky about where you put certain toppings. Once you've finished with that, you'll head to the Baking station, where you'll actually bake the pizza. Again, customers are picky about how long it's cooking in the oven. Lastly, you move to the Cutting station, where you cut the pizza to the customer's specifications. Not only that, you have to manage your time, because you're locked into cutting a pizza and serving it once you take it out of the oven. A big problem if you have other pizza in the oven.
Since this is the first in the series, a lot of features are missing like upgrading your restaurant. However, Papa's Pizzeria is still a really fun time.
