Flash games were like the wild west. During the time they were around, modern game design in and of itself wasn't fully fleshed out. Sure, there were a couple of soft rules, but experimentation was everywhere. Flash games were and are the most experimental games you can play around as they don't really care what's "right" and what's "wrong". QWOP is perhaps one of the best examples ever made.
To install QWOP, just run it with whatever SWF player you have.
The pretense to this game is simple. You're an Olympic runner, probably from a country with incredibly under-funded athletics training who must nonetheless compete in the 100 meter dash. The reason for the name becomes incredibly clear as soon as you boot the game up. To control the sprinter, you have to control each leg's thighs and calves individually with the Q, W, O and P keys.
You might even think that it's an easy game at first sight. Just control the legs and you're good to go, right? Well, you'll soon realize the nature of the game in just the first second of playing the game when your character will undoubtedly faceplant into the ground unceremoniously as epic music plays.
This game started off an entire genre of "failure games" where you aren't meant to win, but fail as hilariously as possible instead. If you want to experience the progenitor of this strange genre, then you should definitely give QWOP a download and a play.
