However, modern-day technology has made it so much more difficult that it's nearly impossible to pirate without being caught nowadays. People also used to transport many valuables back in the day because there were no alternative - much different than today. Games are one of the easiest ways to experience piracy in its heyday - Son Korsan is one of many pirate games trying to capitalize on that.

This is a top-down strategy game where you get to be a pirate and you try to do everything you can to conquer the seas and gather as much treasure as possible. By doing so, you can also unlock better equipment for your ship and gather enough resources to build a proper fleet.

You only start with a single ship and basic equipment, which is just enough for you to get started. The main gameplay loop is to sail out to see and look for vulnerable ships to rob from. Alternatively, there are also floating treasure chests if you don't want to battle.

Unfortunately, this game is incredibly rushed, with bugs that render the game unplayable, poor grammar, and constant attempts to get you to spend money. Unfortunately, as far as free pirate games go, this is definitely one of the weaker ones. It's hard to recommend Son Korhan.
