Point and click games used to be all the craze until around the 2010s. Now, they're usually relegated to mid size productions or simple indie titles. The genre also proved incredibly popular among flash game creators, due to the relatively simple planning and programming that goes into such a game. Let's take a look at one of the most surprisingly great point and click Flash series out there - Submachine. Specifically, Submachine 2: The Lighthouse.
To play Submachine 2: The Lighthouse, just run it with whatever SWF player you have.
This sequel moves in a direction that shows where the series is going to head towards in the future. Compared to the first game, which had 20 rooms, this game is almost five times larger with 98 unique rooms. The puzzles are also a bit more complex than before, and you'll need to use your brain and think outside the box to progress.
The truly great part is how there are absolutely no dead ends in this game. No matter what you've done or where you are, you will always be able to get out of it. While that may sound like a baseline feature, it's great to see a flash game that has so many rooms that's also designed so tightly that you won't ever get stuck.
All in all, Submachine 2: The Lighthouse is a great second entry into the series, and continues the trademark ominous atmosphere and feeling that it's so well known for.
